The community of Jefferson and Pillar, part of Accenture Industry X.0, will be hosting a celebration of the opening of the first rural Forge — where businesses use advanced digital technologies to transform core industrial operations, worker and customer experiences, and business models. Come celebrate with all of Jefferson the collaboration intended to not only help rural Iowa residents acquire the skills necessary to master high value tech jobs, but to encourage them to stay put, utilizing those skills right in the heartland.
The festivities are from 4-8:30 pm centered in the Jefferson Courthouse Square.
Schedule of Events:
5 pm - Community BBQ — FREE at the courthouse square.
4-7 pm - Forge Open House Tours — Be a part of a guided tour to experience the Forge; learn more about this incredible state of the art technology facility and how it impacts our community by bringing educational and job opportunities for students in rural Iowa.
4 & 5 pm - Parent/Teacher information sessions held at the Sierra theatre, located next to the Forge. Representatives from Pillar, Corteva, ICCC, & DMACC will be presenting information on scholarship opportunities available in association with the opening of the Forge. Any 7th-12th grade student/parent will not want to miss this opportunity to understand the educational opportunities and where to plug into the learning pathway.
7-8:30 pm - Bring your lawn chairs! Find a prime seat for the main event at the courthouse square. Be a part of history as it announces that rural Iowa is embracing and ready to create the next generation of digital solutions.
