Today's guest blog post is from Whitley Mitts, manager of SWARM Sports Bar & Grille: an experience both you and your taste buds will remember! "Home of Bob's Burger" — A ONE POUND burger, stuffed with bacon and mozzarella cheese, topped with cheddar cheese and MORE bacon!

SWARM was established in June of 2019. We are a small family owned business owned by Bob Mitts and managed by me, his daughter, Whitley Mitts.
Many wonder how we got our name and what it stands for...well, it is actually an acronym of our family's first letters of our names:
Sue Whitley Andy Robert Megan.
My Dad remembers when I was 4, we were out fishing as a family. I came up with the name SWARM as to what we should name the boat we were fishing in haha! That stuck with him all these years! Cool, huh?!
We are mostly known for and have become quite famous for our unique "Specialty Burgers," all made from fresh hand-pattied burger. My staff and I have so much fun in the kitchen coming up with new and exciting burgers and specialty pizzas that keep our customers coming back for more! In fact, in early 2021, we were voted "TOP 5 Best Burger" in Northeast Iowa!
In November of 2021, I received the honor of all honors. I was nominated by friends, staff, and people in the community and was selected as one of "40 Woman to Watch" in the hospitality industry, an award presented by The Iowa Restaurant Association! I received my award at an event held in Ames at the Iowa Events Center.
We love being a part of the community of Sumner, participating in as many local events as possible! Sumner Days, Fred's Annual Softball Tournament and our annual Easter Basket Hunt are three of my favorites to be a part of!
In June of 2022, we were able to remodel and we transformed our old "Bar & Grille" into a beautiful, family friendly, full service family restaurant! Our large menu offers many, many options along side our specialty burgers including, but not limited to: cod, tenderloins, wraps, salads, loaded fries, a large selection of appetizers, chicken, pizza made with our homemade pizza sauce, and of course, ice cold brews with a variety of local craft beers on tap!
We are unexplainably blessed with great staff, family, and friends that help out wherever they are needed. Together, along with the amazing support of our community and loyal out-of-town customers, we have TRULY built something amazing!
