BAKERY
Nestled in the northeast corner of Iowa, the community of Sumner (population 2,175) is looking for a business owner to fill the need of a Bakery. Sumner’s vibrant downtown and progressive retail community would be a perfect fit for an energetic and determined business owner. Sumner hosts many retail boutique opportunities and is home to the local high school and elementary, movie theatre, hospital, library, and aquatic center.
In a recent survey discussing the current needs in the community, 52% of the respondents indicated a desire for a bakery and are open to a full service bakery or a satellite bakery with a smaller retail space.
For over 50 years, Sumner was host to a successful family-run bakery that served not only the community of Sumner, but also served and delivered baked goods to surrounding communities. The original owners of the bakery retired in 2001 and the void is still present with the closest bakery being 30 miles away.
