An Upland Hunting Experience with Heartland Gamebirds
Heartland Gamebirds was born out of a mutual love for two things, upland birds hunts and Courtland, Kansas. Clay and Bethany Wallin, and Nathan and Shanna Lindberg wanted to provide others with the opportunity to experience pheasant hunting in the Heartland. The dream of offering a fully guided, all inclusive hunting experience became a reality in 2019. The following year, they purchased two historic bank buildings on Main Street to restore as their lodge. With high end furnishings and attention to detail, the old buildings have become a beautiful part of Main Street. The controlled shooting hunts are booked from October to April, and in the off season, the lodge is used for local gatherings and overnight guests.
Aside from providing the upland hunting experience, Heartland Gamebirds is passionate about giving back to the community. Youth education, city projects, and local school needs are a focus when it comes to giving back. Nathan and Clay have fond memories of hunting with family and friends around Courtland, and they hope to provide education and similar experiences for area children. The rural movement has touched Courtland, and Heartland Gamebirds is proud to be a part of the growth.
HEARTLAND LODGE RENOVATION
The owners purchased and remodeled an old bank on Main Street in Courtland to create Heartland Lodge. The building features two levels with multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and two full kitchens, with open areas on the main floor for guests of the guide service.
