“I love Norwegian culture, and so I used to paint these patterns of things and I couldn’t understand why I was so drawn to pattern. And then it didn’t like effectively work until I moved to Beaufort when I started painting shells. So there’s this whole thing inside of me that I didn’t know what it was for or how I could utilize it until I got to the place where I was supposed to be.”
